The Tune 220TWS from JBL is a true wireless in-ear. No hassle with a neckband, as you often see with quasi-wireless ones!
To start with, the new JBL Tune 220TWS is pleasantly priced, for €99.99 you can call it yours. The built-in battery in the caps is good for three hours of playing time; the supplied charging case – when fully charged – has a spare tank that is good for 16 hours of extra playing time. After you’ve charged the caps on the way in that case. JBL has used a 12 mm diaphragm and the maximum in-ear sound pressure level is 98 dB. Furthermore, the JBL Pure-Bass_Sound is obviously not missing either.
The surfaces of both new JBL in-ears are touch sensitive. You can switch tracks at the touch of a button, answer calls, or activate voice commands. The Tune 220TWS is immediately available in four metallic colours: Triple Black, Pure White, Ocean Blue and the Dusty Pink shown above this article. The frequency range runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and the caps weigh 56 grams. On the wireless side, Bluetooth 5.0 is used, with the profiles (codecs) A2DP 1.3, AVRCP 1.5, HFP 1.6 available. Things like aptX and AAC are missing, but certainly for the daily public transport trip, for example, that doesn’t have to be an insurmountable drama. Certainly not if you consider the mentioned relatively low price of this JBL Tune 220TWS.
