Metronome Technology presents the DSS streamer

Metronome Technologie

French Metronome Technology has released a brand new streamer in the form of the DSS – which stands for Digital Sharing Streamer.

Although the new DSS of the French Metronome Technology looks somewhat like a computer device at the front, it is not. Well, of course it is, because streaming is handled internally by a microprocessor, which makes it a bit of a computer device. Anyway, the DSS is small (25 x 25 x 7 centimeters) and is fully plug-and-play. The streamer can handle all known file formats up to PCM with a maximum quality of 384 kHz / 32 bit. DSD to DSD64 is no problem either. Choose from wifi or ethernet to connect to your (home) network.

AirPlay and Roon

The Metronome Technology DSS is UPnP and DLNA certified, which makes streaming from a NAS, for example, a breeze. Furthermore, the DSS Roon is compatible with AirPlay 1 and 2. The DSS costs €2390. You can choose between a black or silver finish. The housing is made of steel with an aluminium front plate. As far as exits are concerned, you will find the following at the back of the newcomer:

  • 1 x S/PDIF output RCA connector
  • 1 x AES/EBU XLR connector
  • 1 x Optical Toslink connector
  • 1 x HDMI (I²S)
