A new set of wireless in-ears has appeared, the Powerbeats from Beats by Dr. Dre as they are officially called. We will call it Powerbeats.
The new Powerbeats from Beats are not completely wireless, but both in-ears are connected by a ‘neck-strap’. A cable. This is to secure the beats while doing sports. Not a crazy idea. If – for example – one of the ‘beats’ falls out of the ear, you will not lose it. The chance that this in-ear pops out of the ear is not that big thanks to the adjustable braces. According to Beats they have the same sound quality as the Powerbeats Pro.
Ideal for sports
If you’re going to call hands-free, it’s good to know that some form of noise suppression has been implemented. This involves the use of directional microphones and a voice-detecting accelerometer.
The playing time you get from a full battery charge of these Beats is impressive: 15 hours. That great score is partly due to the use of Apple’s H1 chip. A nice bonus: just five minutes of refueling results in 1 hour of music. Furthermore, they are sweat and water resistant, making them ideal for sports and outdoor activities. Available in black, white and red for an amount of €149.95.
