TP Vision, the current owner of the Philips brand, will launch televisions and audio products with DTS Play-Fi.
DTS Play-Fi enables things like streaming hi-res audio for music, TV sound and app-based things. The idea is to achieve high sound quality, which is always nice of course. Products that work with the system – think mobile devices, TVs, soundbars and speakers – communicate effortlessly with each other. And so you can build a matching home entertainment system in no time at all.
TP Vision’s Philips OLED805 series is the first A-brand TV that is launched with DTS Play-Fi as standard. Subsequently, all Philips Android-powered TVs also need to be upgraded to DTS Play-Fi. Later this year, the 2019 Android TVs will also be updated.
More equipment on the go
In the autumn, TP Vision will release another series of soundbars and speakers with DTS Play-Fi under the name Philips. Fans will then be able to fill their entire home with interconnected and compatible systems. In other words: turn your entire home into one large entertainment system. So this year is going to be the year of DTS Play-Fi for TP Vision, and if you’re lucky, you might still have an upgradeable device standing somewhere in the house.
