Bang & Olufsen brings 4000c turntable back to life

Bang & Olufsen

The Danish Bang & Olufsen brings the legendary 4000c turntable back to life. In a very limited edition and in a special way. For starters, only 95 copies of the ‘new’ Bang & Olufsen 4000c are available, with the 95 referring to the manufacturer’s 95th anniversary.

What makes the 4000c special is that each of these special editions is a completely renovated turntable of yesteryear. Not only has an extensive and thorough restoration and renovation been carried out, the players have been disassembled and cleaned down to the last screw. Also, parts have been adapted to the current state of the art, where you have to think of a new preamplifier. This makes it easy to connect the 4000c to any modern active speaker or amplifier.

The player has also been completely re-adjusted and tuned. Also new is the handmade wooden frame.

Only in Europe

Another nice detail is that the Bang & Olufsen 4000c – by the way designed by Jacob Jensen – has been renovated in the same factory as it was once newly produced in the 1970s.

The 95 consecutively numbered copies are currently only available in a selection of European Bang & Olufsen Stores. You pay an amount of €10,000 for this limited edition. That includes element, plate brush in handmade leather pouch, power cable with braided textile sheath, and 5-pin DIN signal cable, a phono/line cable, manual and a reprint of the 4002 design history.
