HELM presents the new BOLT portable DAC headphone amplifier, which is MQA and THX certified.
A portable DAC not only enhances the sound of the average mobile device, it also usually plays source files (or streams) in higher resolution than your device can handle by default. The HELM BOLT does all that, and it also supports MQA and is THX certified. The small device is easy to take with you wherever you go. Practical is the USB-C connection that is compatible with many more recently released smartphones, tablets and laptops and so on.
DSD and wide compatibility
The HELM BOLT also has no problems with DSD (up to 5.6 MHz) and works driverless. In other words: you plug it into any device that supports USB-DACs, including for example a Windows laptop. The only system requirement is the availability of a free USB-C connection.
By the way, the BOLT costs only €84.27; a fairly modest amount to boost the sound quality of a mobile device. The device is available directly from the manufacturer’s website. In terms of operating systems, in addition to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS/iPadOS are also supported. It must therefore be very strange if the HELM BOLT is not compatible with a device in use.
