Philips Fidelio X3 over-ear headphones

Philips

The new Philips Fidelio X3 is the successor to the well-known X2, aimed at audiophiles and musicians who want precise playback.

The Fideleo X3 is Philips’ new flagship headphones. It’s an open-back model that the manufacturer has developed with the goal of delivering highly accurate sound reproduction with impressive bass and warm midrange tones.

Of course, a pure and detailed treble reproduction is not lacking either, according to Philips. The multi-layer polymer drivers are gel-filled for better damping; countering resonances.

Kvadrat

A double-walled construction of the auricles reinforced with internal reinforcements should prevent unwanted vibrations. Furthermore, Philips has tilted the drivers in the X3 15 degrees, which makes the sound float even better into the ear canal.

Remarkably, open headphones lack such a characteristic ‘grille’, instead an acoustically transparent fabric from Kvadrat is used. And that in turn should lead to lower air resistance and standing waves. The Philips Fidelio X3 is immediately available for an amount of €349.99.
