Google has presented its latest and very affordable Pixel 5a smartphone, with a striking detail: a headphone jack!
Hopefully Google is a trendsetter with the Pixel 5a smartphone. The device, which runs on Android 11, is equipped (again) with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This means that all regular wired headphones (again) can be used as desired. The device can also be easily connected via this connection to, for example, a set of active speakers. The Pixel 5a has another nice feature in the form of the very sturdy 4680 mAh battery. If you then also turn on the ‘Extreme Battery Saver’ mode, this Google runs for 48 hours on a single charge.
5G
The Google Pixel 5a features an 8-core Snapdragon 765G SoC, a 12 and a 16 megapixel camera (the 16 megapixel is a super wide-angle one) 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Furthermore, it is a 5G phone, so fast internet – if available – is among the possibilities.
Google promises “at least” three years of updates to Android. In comparison with iPhones not particularly much, but already much more than what a lot of other brands offer for their Android phones. Remains the price of the device available in the US from the end of this month: $449. When (and if…) the Pixel 5a will be sold in the Netherlands is still unknown at the time of writing.
