Netflix has begun rolling out spatial audio for devices running iOS and iPadOS (i.e. iPhones and iPads).
The option to activate spatial audio in the Netflix app can be found in Control Center, under the volume settings. If the option is not yet available, first check if there is an app update for Netflix. And if that is not the case (or even after an update the option is still not there): no stress. Spatial audio is being rolled out in phases, so you’ll just have to be patient.
Also, the trick only works with the Apple AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. These have 3D head-tracking on board, so the sound “moves” along with head movements. You also need at least iOS 14 or higher, or iPadOS 14 or newer. In short: a nice option for the streaming service, but not for everyone.
