DJ School Alphen sets world record

The DJ School Alphen set a world record with the longest DJ Marathon in the world, in the form of 14 days nonstop spinning.

For 14 days and almost 4 hours (339 hours and 45 minutes total) 364 DJs played continuously at DJ School Alphen in Alphen aan den Rijn. By doing so, several world records were broken. First of all, the longest DJ Marathon in the world but also the number of DJ’s that participated in one DJ Marathon set a record number.

The 14 day DJ Marathon ended Friday, October 29 after 21:00. The two DJs who opening the DJ Marathon were none other than Darkraver and Ruthless. The marathon was closed by Biggi, Irwan and DJ Jean. Menno Hazenoot aka MC Big M hosted his own 48 hour event during this record attempt. He managed to spin non-stop for over 40 hours. By doing so, he broke his own world record as a DJ. The youngest DJ to participate was Miss Isa of only 11 years old. DJs who participated at the DJ Marathon include: DJ Jean, Irwan, Ruthless, Darkraver, BIGGI, Jaydee, Freestyle Maniacs, DR. Rude, Gizmo, Jones, System Overload, Dutch Hustlaz, Renvo, Jessica Joan, Retaliation, Hard Effectz, Sprinky, Dimitri-K, MC Tha Watcher, Toxic Inside, Dutch Movement, Hysta, Chaotic Hostility, Crypton, Nexone, System Overload, Micky Hurts, Sounds like Yazz, Envine, Access One, MC Tellem with a DJ set and many more. The DJs came from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Poland and Switzerland, among others.


Jelmer Smit, student at the DJ school Alphen was responsible for organizing everything during the various DJ Marathons. Planning of the artists and various hostings (from organizations and music labels) were his responsibility. The groundbreaking spectacle was realized with the help of a dedicated team. Consisting of the DJ teachers of the DJ school, Vano Rodriguez & Roche Burnett a production team led by Wouter Kikstra of Wout Events and others. Wouter was responsible for the video registration and production. This 14-day spectacle was held at DJ School Alphen.

Anthony and Amrish broke the following world records during the corona crisis: The longest DJ Marathon of 10 days with 201 DJs in different genres, the longest Harder Styles DJ Marathon of 7 days with 203 DJs, the longest Female DJ Marathon of 7 days with 137 DJs (term for female DJs) and the Techno/Tech House DJ Marathon with 128 DJs and the Harder Styles DJ Marathon of 10 days with 245 DJs. In doing so, they broke several world records. The DJs have played non-stop for 41 days (984+ hours) in these 5 previous DJ Marathons.

Amrish and Anthony will soon launch the first DJ award for Dutch DJs, the Dutch Priority Awards.
