The Google Pixel 6 will be able to handle more USB DACs after an update scheduled for later this year, which is always nice.
An update for the Google Pixel 6 is scheduled to roll out in June this year. It will include support for more DACs, among other stuff. Currently, the intended Android update is in it’s beta phase. For example, the hi-res streams from Tidal and Qobuz do not yet (?) work. We’ll have to wait and see what the final version will bring. But it is good to know that Google is at least thinking of the category of users who connect external DACs to their smartphones. It is not known whether the update will also be rolled out for earlier models of the Pixel.
