Vincent SV-237MKII hybrid class A amplifier

Vincent

The Vincent SV-237MKII, as can be concluded from the type number, has arrived at its third iteration already. Hybrid and Class A, for anyone who cannot choose between tube or transistor.

In the preamp stage of the Vincent SV-237MKII, a pair of 6N1P ‘New Old Stock (NOS)’ tubes is used. This should lead to a natural and ‘warmer’ sound image. Then again, the power amplifier is built entirely with semiconductors. The four power transistors deliver a maximum RMS power of 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms ( 2 x 150 watts into 8 ohms). The frequency range of this integrated amplifier runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, all while we’re talking about a Class A amplifier regarding construction. In terms of inputs, you can choose from both digital and analog inputs. A built-in DAC from Burr Brown – the PCM 5102 to be exact – delivers a maximum quality of 24 bit / 192 kHz. Furthermore, Bluetooth is also at hand for wireless sources such as your smartphone, for example. The Vincent SV-237MKII is available in black or silver versions, at a cost of €2499.
