Universal Music has announced The Rolling Stones In Mono, a 16 LP vinyl box set for True Lovers.
The average Stones fan stems undoubtedly from the vinyl era. When the medium had its heyday, mono releases were not exceptional. And so Universal Music thought it was time to reissue 14 mono albums dating from 1964-1969 in a collector’s box. Nice detail: each record in The Rolling Stones In Mono set has a different color. In addition – spread over two LPs – the set also includes the special double album Stray Cats, containing a “the best of” all B-side tracks from EPs from those years. A total of 24 additional tracks not featured on the 14 mono albums. The set was mastered in DSD directly from the mono masters, by Grammy winner Bob Ludwig. The set is available from January 20 and costs €423.99.
