Integra AV-receiver meant for integration

Integra presents the new DRX-8.4, primarily intended for integration into high-end home theaters.

Some go very far in setting up a home theater and create a separate room including cinema seats. For that kind of setting, the new Integra DRX-8.4 is intended. It’s an 11-channel AV recorder, with each individual channel capable of delivering up to 150 watts of power. Further features include balanced XLR connections plus a host of supported audio formats, including THX Select, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X and, of course, Dolby Atmos. In addition, support for Auro 3D Audio is expected, via a forthcoming firmware update. Internally, high performance ESS Sabre DAC chips have been used, as well as reference class AB amplifiers, among others. Two additional outputs allow passive subwoofers to be driven.

When it comes to streaming, you can go either way with the Integra DRX-8.4. Not only is the device Roon-ready, but Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast are also present. Besides, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer and Spotify offer enough choice in matter of music streamers. Available starting this spring for $3200 in the US. When and at what price it will be the EU’s turn is not known at the time of writing.
