Denmark’s Børresen has added a new speaker to its X series introduced last year: the X6.
The new X6 from Børresen is a column that can be considered the big brother of the X3 that was released last year. In total, you’ll find seven drivers in the 1.64-meter-high speaker.
It’s is a three-way system consisting of six equal mid-low drivers. Interestingly, the speakers are the same, but the cutoff frequency for each group is chosen differently. One pair of drivers take care of the mid tones and the remaining four handle the bass frequencies.
The membrane of each of the cones consists of a carbon fiber honeycomb structure (or better: two layers of carbon fiber with an aramid honeycomb in between).
Then there is the tweeter. Here the Danes opted for a magnetostatic one. Choose from a version finished in black or white piano lacquer, for which you have to pay €20,000 in either case.
