Testlist
Contents
We have a set list of tracks that we use to determine the sound of a component. Most of the tracks are in CD quality with some high-res files in addition. We pay attention to different things such as soundstage (width, depth, height), sharp s-sounds, quality of the low, dynamics, tonality, imaging,… But we also pay attention to perception, involvement and emotionality. We put on a lot of CDs or stream new music throughout the review period. That way we hear a lot of things. If we want to listen in a more specific way, we play the test list.
I hope you found it fun and interesting to read how I approach my reviews but if you’ll excuse me now because the courier is already there with a new package. Curious what’s in it be sure to keep following our stories! Reference system (July 2021)
