Afrondend

The High End fair was first organised in 1981. At the time, Germany was still called West Germany. Representatives of audio brands (such as Burmester and Clearaudio), the specialist trade and the press decided to work together and show the latest developments to the public. After a few years the location in Düsseldorf and then Frankfurt became too small and in 2004 the High End moved to Munich. From the figures you can clearly see how the fair grows from a national fair to an international event. In 2001 there were 150 German brands on the trading floor, and 28 from other countries. In 2019 there are 178 German brands and 366 foreign brands. Of these, 226 are from Europe (minus Germany), 71 from Asia and 59 from North America. Since 2012, the number of brands from Europe and North America has doubled and those from Asia have tripled. The number of visitors rose from approximately 7,000 in 2001 to 19,889 in 2018. This makes the High End Munich one of the most important trade fairs for high quality audio.
