The new Panasonic PMX802 is a true all-in-one; with this mini system, the speakers are also included and you are ready in one fell swoop.
Extreme high-end stuff is of course fantastic. But sometimes they are financially just a bridge too far. Or are you looking for a compact but good sounding system for the office, but preferably something that is equipped with all modern features imaginable. The Panasonic PMX802 is such a device, a mini-set to be precise.
The whole is designed to fit on a bookshelf, including the supplied 3-way speakers. Equipped with a wooden casing by the way, and silk dome tweeters. The power amplifier in the set is a JENO designed by Technics, which in turn stands for Jitter Elimination, Noise-Shaper Optimation Engine.
Streaming
What makes the Panasonic PMX802 really special is the plethora of possibilities. Of course, a DAB + and FM tuner are provided. A CD player is not lacking either. At the same time, the system opens up a world of streaming to you, thanks to compatibility with Spotify Connect. That in turn works via Wifi, Chromecast, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 are also implemented.
Thanks to Chromecast, this Panasonic has an interesting extra feature: hi-res streaming via this protocol, supporting Tidal and Deezer, among others. If you have a USB stick full of digital music, then just plug it into the USB connection on the front. In that case FLAC files with a quality of up to 24 bit / 192 kHz are played.
Finally, there is a ‘CD High-Res-Re-Master’ function, which according to Panasonic should boost the sound quality of CDs and other digital files of lower quality. The PMX802 is available in silver or black, for a price of €549. An exact date in terms of availability is not yet known at the time of writing.
