Chord presents Anni mini desktop integrated amplifier

Chord released its first-ever ‘desktop’ amplifier. The Anni is an absolute ‘mini’, nicely matching the other devices of the Qutest series.

As large (or small…) as the other components in the Qutest series, the new Anni is perfectly stackable. Manufacturer Chord got the same idea and released a rack with the name QSS (Qutest Stand System). Time to to put the spotlights on Anni though, the brand new integrated amplifier intended for use on a bookshelf or desk. The device features a similar error correction system for both headphones or a set of speakers. The error correction takes care of adjusting the gain, which in turn should improve sound quality. In total, an output power of up to 10 watts is available, delivered by the Chord ULTIMA amplification circuit. Furthermore, both a 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm headphone jack are provided. Anni gets her power from an external 15 Volt power brick. Anni itself has a 12 Volt output, for example useable for powering the Qutest DAC.

Alu housing

The Chord Anni has a CNC-manufactured aluminum housing, in line with the other products of this brand. Everything is designed and manufactured in the UK. Last but not least, the distinctive and illuminated ‘candy buttons’ look both nice and are practical in use. The newborn from Chord is available, costing £1195 GBP.
