With the final cancellation of the Mitteldeutsche HiFi-Tage, there has been no major hi-fi show at our eastern neighbors this year. Cause: (of course) Covid.
The organization of the Mitteldeutsche HiFi-Tage, which normally takes place in the autumn in Leipzig, has let it be known that they do not find it responsible to continue the event this year. This was actually already in the line of expectation, but with the announcement of dates for next year it is now final.
Covid is obviously the cause, the virus still flares up again and again. As an organizer of any large event you do not want to be labeled as the center of an outbreak.
Better next year?
The organization of the Mitteldeutsche HiFi-Tage is optimistic for next year. That is why they have set a date for the event by then: 19 and 20 November 2022. If there are no issues by then, they also hope to return to a regular trade show schedule. By the way, at the time of writing, the event website is not up to date and hasn’t really been updated in terms of dates for some time!
