Audiolab Omnia all-in-one

The new Omnia from Audiolab is a compact all-in-one hi-fi system, including an always practical CD player.

All-in-ones are those wonderfully compact devices with everything onboard you wish for. In case of the Omnia from Audiolab we’re even talking about a very complete unit. Besides a CD player you will also find an extensive streamer in the device. Setting up an extensive multiroom system is an option too. Thanks to the built-in class AB amplifier it’s possible to drive a large part of commonly available speakers. Audiolab has also thought about vinyl lovers, for whom a phono input is available. For sure, the Audiolab Omnia has a wide range of inputs to which you can connect all sorts of sources.

The streaming heart of the Audiolab Omnia is based on DTS Play-Fi, which is supported by a large number of renowned manufacturers. Streaming in a quality of up to 24 bit / 192 kHz is possible. The Omnia is app-controlled; the Play-Fi app is available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire. This app provides the link with an ocean of streaming services such as Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Spotify, TuneIn and more. Via TuneIn you will have access to an endless source of radio streams from all over the world. Of course, streaming via DLNA is also supported, so you can play your local music collection, such as stored on a NAS. Then there is Bluetooth, which can handle the codecs aptX, aptX LL, AAC and SBC. For the techies: Audiolab chose the ES9038Q2M as DAC chip, which is part of the Sabre family. It supports PCM audio (via USB) in a quality of up to 32 bit / 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512. The Audiolab Omnia is available from this month, at a cost of £1599.
