Marantz launched the MODEL 40n integrated amplifier. This model provides easy access to a wide range of digital music, podcasts and more.
According to the manufacturer, the new Marantz MODEL 40n is ‘sleekly designed and suitable for anyone looking for exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding audio performance. The use of the finest materials also makes the MODEL 40n an elegant eye-catcher in any room’.

Just add speakers
With the Marantz MODEL 40n, listeners benefit from – as we read in the press release about the newcomer – ‘the unprecedentedly full, rich sound that audio enthusiasts have been trying to achieve with complicated equipment for years. That same sound is now readily available in one unit that listeners can connect to their favorite speakers. Listening to music has never been easier thanks to integrated access to the likes of Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, Tidal, TuneIn and Internet radio. The MODEL 40n also offers access to personal libraries, from PCM 192 kHz/24 bit and DSD up to 5.6 MHZ. Wireless connectivity is available in the form of Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and WiFi with HEOS’, among others.
Extensive connectivity
The MODEL 40n is capable of both analog and digital inputs for all sources. This includes Marantz Musical Phono EQ, a Moving Magnet phono input for vinyl playback. The MODEL 40n can also be connected to the TV thanks to an HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) input. Any TV with integrated access to movie and streaming services will sound “incredibly good” with the new amplifier, according to the manufacturer. The dedicated subwoofer output with crossover adjustments allows the user to tune the acoustics by adjusting the bass response to the listening environment. Thanks to the technical capabilities of the Marantz analog amplification, audio enthusiasts should enjoy ‘accurate, clear, spacious and dynamic sound’.
As a stand-alone amplifier or streaming
The MODEL 40n is designed as the primary audio hub for one or more rooms. Thanks to HEOS Built-In technology, everyone in the house can enjoy their favorite music through a wireless audio experience. For example, play the same festive music in every room or choose different songs for each connected room with HEOS speakers. This smart solution works not only for streaming services, but also on every input of the MODEL 40n, including phono. ‘The MODEL 40n is equipped with advanced WiFi technology that enables stable streaming via WiFi and Bluetooth in even the most crowded cities. In addition, the MODEL 40n is intuitive to use, with a remote control and convenient voice control that works with Siri, Alexa and Google. ‘Availability of the voice control service varies by country,’ Marantz says.
Improved amplification
The new powerful Class A/B power amplification stage of 70 watts per channel (in 8 Ohm) exceeds the performance of previous models without sacrificing power. The MODEL 40n is a dynamic powerhouse that can handle even heavy speakers. This is made possible – according to the press release – by a larger power transformer, four output transistors per channel, heavy copper voltage rails and short current paths for lower impedance and high voltage delivery.
Designed and tuned by Marantz Sound Masters

Price and availability
The MODEL 40n Integrated Amplifier from Marantz is available in two versions: Marantz Black and Silver Gold. The recommended retail price is EUR 2499 and it’ll be available at authorized Marantz outlets from March 2022.
