The new Ayre Acoustics CX-8 CD player plays – of course – CDs but also functions – if desired so in the near future – as a DAC and streamer.
The Ayre Acoustics CX-8 is completely symmetrical setup internally. Furthermore, feedback is provided and the manufacturer has chosen new DACs compared to its predecessor CX-7. The beating heart of the CX-8 is formed by the ESS 9028Q2M. All that technology should, according to Ayre Acoustics, ensure a particularly clear and natural reproduction of CDs. However, it doesn’t stop at CDs alone. Two expansion modules should appear soon, in the fall of this year. The first will add a USB input and the second a network module including Roon compatibility. The CX-8 is available per direct for a price of €6180, choose from a black or silver version.
