The McIntosh Group has been acquired by the American private investor Highlander Partners, a giant in its field.
More and more manufacturers – including those of renown brands – are being acquired by investors. This time it’s the turn of the McIntosh Group, which has been bought by Highlander Group, a Dallas-based giant with $2 billion worth of assets under its wing. According to Highlander, McIntosh is to form the basis of its new “luxury technology platform”. Because McIntosh Group is the parent company of (among others) McIntosh and Sonus Faber, both these brands now also fall under the investor. Whether the takeover is a good thing, time will tell, as always. For now, the words of Highlander Group sound promising; it praises the new acquisition for its ‘dedication to quality performance, sophisticated technology, refined design, and artisan manufacturing’.
