Audio-Technica has released a new condenser microphone packed with state-of-the-art technology.
Some audio enthusiasts are not only of the passive variety, but also produce content themselves. For example, the new Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X condenser microphone is ideally suited for recording podcasts in high quality. Thanks to the kidney characteristic, the microphone can be directed well towards the source. Does the type number look familiar to you? It may, because the newcomer is an equally new interpretation of the AT2020USB+. This time, however, the device is equipped with a USB-C connector, which makes it very easy to connect to things like laptop, tablet or smartphone. Internally, the analog microphone signal is converted to a digital signal with a resolution of 24 bit / 96 kHz. And that’s more than enough to capture speech.

The Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X also features a headphone jack with volume control. There is a mixer too, which allows you to mix sound from the computer with that picked up by the microphone. A silent mute switch will probably also come in handy from time to time. Included is a table stand, adapter and a 2-meter long USB cable with USB-C and USB-A adapters. The price is not too bad: €149.
