The vinyl craze just won’t go away, and so more and more retro players are appearing on the market, such as this Sound Burger from Audio Technica.
Audio Technica is celebrating its 60th anniversary, which means it is releasing a number of special products to mark the occasion. One of them is the Sound Burger, a portable record player from the 1980s. The device was very popular at the time, no doubt due in part to how it looks. And it’s back on the market now! Although the appearance has remained unchanged, everything under the hood has been updated to the demands of our time. Bluetooth is available, for example, as is a USB-C connector that can be used to charge the built-in wireless battery. This, by the way, gives a playing time of 12 hours on a full charge, so that’s perfectly doable. Should you also want to listen to the Sound Burger at home, you can do so via the aforementioned Bluetooth or via a line output. The Audio Technica Sound Burger plays both 33 and 45 rpm vinyl. The Burger costs $199. Unfortunately, at the time of writing we read at the site the device is already sold out…
