Pro-Ject regularly rolls out turntables with a specific theme, this time it’s the turn of clothing brand Fred Perry X.
British clothing brand Fred Perry X is iconic and has been setting trends in subcultures for generations. Although Austria – the home of Pro-Ject – and the United Kingdom are quite different scenically, Pro-Ject has shown a warm interest in English (music) culture on several occasions. The various models with a (British) theme testify to this. So it is perhaps not very surprising that a Pro-Ject record player with a Fred Perry X theme has now appeared. The designers drew inspiration from the Essential III and the Debut Carbon EVO. The end result of this symbiosis is a record player with a built-in phono preamplifier, preset aluminum tone arm and an Ortofon OM 10 cartridge included and installed. Revolutions of 33 and 45 rpm are supported.
Different color settings
Needless to say, the whole thing is topped with a Fred Perry X icing in terms of design. Choose from three color settings, based on three classic colors of the clothing brand: Black-Chapagne, Maroon-White-Ice and White-Ice Navy. Where, by the way, in the first case we do not specifically count three colors… Furthermore, the color design is also reflected in a matching plate mat, on which the famous Fred Perry X logo appears. The price – as is usually the case with Pro-Ject – is thankfully not too bad. For 450 British pounds, it is yours.
