Chord Company presents the SignatureX Tuned ARAY interconnect cable, which according to the manufacturer delivers the “best performance in 25 years”.
The new SignatureX TUNED ARAY interconnect is the new version of Chord Company’s flagship cable. Armed with, for example, the “cross-linked Polythene (XLPE)” insulation first used in the SignatureXL power and speaker cables of the brand. Then there is the proprietary shielding technology and the Tuned ARAY construction of the conductors. Those conductors, in turn, consist of bundled strands of OFC (oxygen-free copper) with their own XLPE insulation.
ChorAlloy
At the ends of the cable you’ll encounter featherweight RCA connectors. However, should you require XLR or DIN plugs, this is also arrangeable. The pins of the plugs are coated with ChorAlloy, a new alloy that should provide better conductivity that is also more wear-resistant. Furthermore, a phono version of the cable is available, as well as tonearm cabling.
Ah yes, and that leaves the price. Given that this is an ultra high-end cable, there is a bit of a higher price tag involved. After all, you pay ÂŁ1000 per meter. Which makes the cable especially interesting for equipment that also falls into the higher high-end class.
