Musical Fidelity breathes new life into LS 3/5A

British Musical Fidelity breathes new life into the legendary LS 3/5A, featuring a classic finish.

Once upon a time, the BBC developed a set of speakers specifically for use in mobile reporting vans and equally mobile studios: the LS 3/5A. This legend is now being re-released by Musical Fidelity. In essence they have remained the same, equipped with an 11 cm mid-low driver and a dome tweeter. It’s a closed system of which the cabinet got a nice looking layer of real wood veneer. The frequency range of the speaker runs from 80 Hz to 20 kHz and the sensitivity is 82.5 dB/W/m. That last mentioned number means you can confidently attach a somewhat heavier drive to it; 20 to 150 watts per channel is recommended.

The Musical Fidelity LS 3/5A costs approximately €2500.
