The Volumio Integro is an all-in-one with extensive streaming capabilities and an on-board power amplifier.
If you are not so keen on all kinds of separate components in terms of hi-fi and your audio needs consist largely of streaming, then the Volumio Integro is the right choice (review right here). The compact system includes a streaming module aka music management system based on Volumio. And we’re talking about the most comprehensive variant here, which also allows you to immediately enjoy the brand new Volumio AI Music Discovery. The whole device is set up as plug-and-play. Just plug in a set of speakers and start listening. The Class D amplifier delivers a maximum output of 2 x 50 watts RMS into 8 ohms (or 2 x 70 watts RMS into 4 ohms). Above that a headphone amplifier is provided, according to the manufacturer “one of the world’s best sounding ones” even. Thanks to various inputs, you can also listen to the sound of, for example, your TV (via HDMI in). Or stream audio from your smartphone, via Bluetooth.
Choice of more than enough sources
If you would like to connect an analog source to your Volumio Integro, this is no problem via the dedicated RCA inputs. Since this is a system designed for streaming, an Ethernet connection isn’t missing either. The well-known Volumio software (full paid version!) offers integration with well-known streaming services. But also local stored music can be played of course. Think of a collection of audio tracks on a NAS in the (home) network or make use of the available USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. To complete it in terms of playback sources, a microSD card reader is provided too. Finally, for those who love some extra bass, a sub-output has been implemented.
The Volumio Integro has a price tag of €1199.
