Astell & Kern presents their brand new UW100MKII true wireless in-ears, with a long playing time on a full battery.
What at least stands out about the new Astell & Kern AK UW100MKII is the playing time on a full battery charge: 9.5 hours. That can be stretched up to 29 hours of off grid listening via the included charging case. Incidentally, the UW100MKII is the successor to the UW100. Compared to it, the newcomer features a redesigned acoustic chamber. This should lead to a more detailed and precise sound. It also features a built-in 32-bit DAC. Bluetooth supports aptX Adaptive, among other codecs.
PNI
Interestingly, Astell & Kern has not built in ANC. However, according to PNI or Passive Noise Isolation has been implemented. Unlike active ANC that deals with low frequencies, PNI has to do that with the mid and higher tonal regions. The in-ears are also suitable for hands-free calls, for this Qualcomm’s cVc Generation 8.0 (Clear Voice Capture) is implemented, which should lead to clear and noise-free call quality for the receiving counterparty.
The Astell & Kern UW100MKII will be available from early October this year at a cost of $280.
