BBC auctions thousands of records and more

The British public broadcaster BBC is auctioning thousands of records by artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and David Bowie, among others.

If you have some spare cash and also happen to be interested in vinyl and radio history in general, you’re in the right place. That’s because the BBC is going to auction 442 packages through Omega Auctions starting later this month. The first auction will start on January 30 at 0900 hours. Among them are rare recordings, but also more commonplace stuff. In fairness, radio stations don’t always treat vinyl with kindness. But as a True Collector, that obviously does not deter you.

Equipment and more

Apart from vinyl, items such as BBC memorabilia and equipment will be auctioned too. Think of recording consoles, old TVs and microphones. Meanwhile, bidding is already in full swing and it should come as no surprise that many items have already far exceeded their original and once pleasant starting bid.
