Nice about the bFly PolarX absorber is, that it is not only adjustable in height but also in sound. So choose something that best suits your situation.
You control the sound aspect of the bFly PolarX by changing the conductive materials. From the factory, you get one extra one, made from the material POM (Polyoxymethylene, a plastic). Replacing the standard built-in aluminum conductor with the POM specimen creates a somewhat softer, more analog soundstage, according to the manufacturer. Should you wish to experiment more, copper conductors are available too, ordered separately. Via a fine thread in the absorber you adjust the required height precisely. The top of the bFly PolarX is provided with a recess into which a spike can be inserted if desired.
There are four variants of the bFly Polar X available:
- PolarX-0, up to 1 kilogram carrying capacity, €139 each
- PolarX-1, up to 4 kilos carrying capacity, €149 each
- PolarX-2, up to 10 kg capacity, €169 per piece
- PolarX-3, up to 17 kg capacity, €199 per piece
By default, an aluminum conductor is built in, if you prefer to choose copper instead, this is possible at an additional cost of €50 per piece.
