The JBL L42ms Classic is a music system with plenty of connections and features. You can tell that much less from its innocent-looking exterior. Because the all-in-one supports Apple Airplay 2 and Google Chromecast, you can do whatever you want with it in terms of streaming. Especially when you consider that access to music services such as Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect is also provided. Furthermore, music streaming via Ethernet or wireless Wi-Fi is possible, or Bluetooth. Two analog inputs (cinch and 3.5 mm) plus an HDMI-ARC connection top off the connectivity options.
DSP
The DAC present in the JBL L42ms Classic offers a maximum quality of 24 bit / 96 kHz. What immediately stands out is the iconic Quadrex cloth. Hidden behind it are the speakers, which are driven by an amplifier with a maximum total output power of 200 watts. In terms of speaker distribution, we are talking about two 4-inch bass drivers and two side-firing tweeters. The four-channel amplifier is driven by a DSP engine that should guarantee optimal playback. You control all functions via an app.
