UK-based QED releases the Supremus Zr, a “next generation” flagship speaker cable for the purists among you.
The new QED Supremus Zr to be launched at the upcoming Munich High End is at once the equally fresh flagship of this British manufacturer. It’s a speaker cable that should satisfy demanding users. The development of the cord took five years, according to the brand’s Dutch distributor, IDC Klaassen. You will find plugs and boots made of zirconium on it, among other things. This ceramic material is known for its long life and has little wear and tear, while it is also temperature resistant and prevents eddy currents. QED has used a cold-welding technique, which the manufacturer says operates trouble-free throughout its lifetime. Aircore technology should ensure even and consistent performance across the entire audio frequency range.
Cold weldings ensure, according to QED, ‘ensures a perfect cable microstructure for more natural tonality’. The QED Supremus Zr is available in various lengths:
