Avantgarde Acoustics was of course also present at the already past High End Munich, where they presented their new MEZZO G3 and Colibri.
According to Dutch importer-distributor Mafico, the Avantgarde Acoustics MEZZO G3 makes use of the brand’s latest generation technologies and is available with both active sub and fully active. In that case it uses the “unique” iTRON power amplifiers, according to the importer-distributor: ‘As always with this brand, the MEZZO G3 is a unique combination of ultimate performance and unsurpassed aesthetics‘.
Holger Fromme, CEO of Avantgarde, says of this model, “We are incredibly proud to show the MEZZO G3 to the world. Our team has worked hard to create a speaker system that not only sets audiophile standards, but also makes a statement in terms of design and craftsmanship. High End Munich provides the perfect stage to introduce this speaker.”
‘Close to the TRIO G3’
The MEZZO G3 comes very close to the TRIO G3 in terms of performance, according to Mafico, but does so on a considerably smaller floor space: ‘With its horn-loaded low frequency response, the dynamics and speed across the entire frequency range are impressive, as Avantgarde demonstrated at the show. The tweeter can be moved forward and backward independently of the low and mid horn for perfect time/phase behavior.’
Colibri
In addition to the MEZZO G3, Avantgarde also demonstrated the Colibri. ‘It was difficult to listen to this model because there was an enormous amount of attention for this novelty and the room was packed all the time! This new model breaks with all previous designs by its radical appearance. For its size, the Colibri in combination with the matching subwoofer put down an enormous sound that seemed to have no limit in terms of volume. With the Colibri, the company aims to tap into a new market with a more compact and design-oriented model at a lower price than previous models (target price is 6000 Euros for a pair of Colibri and 8000 Euros for the subwoofer, subject to change),’ Mafico announced.
Delivery will start after the summer/just after the summer.
