AVM has rolled out several new devices; the premiere of which took place at the Munich High End. Importer-distributor Mafico previewed them.
‘In addition to a listening room in the MOC, AVM had rented large showrooms in the Motorworld located opposite the MOC, where enthusiasts could admire rare sports cars in addition to beautiful audio.
AVM is traditionally a manufacturer with a wide range of products. They divide that into several series, increasing in price from the AVM30.3 series to EVOLUTION, INSPIRATION and OVATION. In addition, they also showed their ROTATION line of turntables, with the latest model being the R30.3 turntable,’ Mafico announced.
CONDITION line
New to AVM is the CONDITION line. In it, the brand introduces two ‘Power Conditioners’ with numerous innovations on board. These include timed startup of the various outputs and, according to Mafico, ‘highly effective cleaning of all possible contamination. A DC filter operates at the input of the two models PC 3.3 and PC 5.3 to filter DC voltage from the mains, which greatly reduces or eliminates transformer hum. Maximum power draw is 3600W (limited by the 16A fuse in your home system)‘. The PC 3.3 has two high-power outputs, intended for (power) amplifiers. In addition, four low-power outputs are waiting for you, intended for source components. The PC 5.3 has four and eight such outputs, respectively.
You’ll have to pay around €5,790 for the PC 5.3; the PC 3.3 will cost around €3,790.
OVATION SA 8.2 Master Edition
In the AVM OVATION line – we read in the announcement – a very interesting product was shown, namely ‘a very competitively priced (€12,290) version of the brand’s existing (much more expensive, costing almost 20,000 Euros) SA 8.3 stereo power amplifier. The model is called SA 8.2 Master Edition and uses a new oversized 1000VA toroidal transformer and has a bit less power than the SA 8.3 (200W instead of 350W)‘.
Integrated streaming amplifiers and phono preamplifiers
And there’s more, not shown at the show, but announced in the price list. These are two integrated streaming amplifiers – the AS 5.3 and AS 3.3 – and phono stages – PH 5.3 and PH 3.3 in the EVOLUTION line. No doubt with tubes in the 5 version and without tubes in the 3 version. Prices and availability to follow.
