The Audes ST-500DC is both a power strip and a distribution box in one practical device. It ensures clean power supply for your equipment.
Nowadays, the household power supply is often polluted with various (HF) interferences that audiophiles do not want to see affecting their systems. This is especially important because these interferences can negatively impact sound quality. A power conditioner, essentially an electronic cleaning device, removes power line pollution caused by things like switching power supplies or network connections over household electrical wiring. The Audes ST-500DC features four standard Schuko outlets. The core of the device is a 500 VA isolation transformer, along with a DC blocking circuit. By removing any present DC component, the transformer in a connected device hums significantly less.
The Audes ST-500DC is equipped with current and temperature protection and is priced at €1500. If you are looking for a DC filter without an isolation transformer but with plenty of outlets (8 to be precise), the new PS-8DC, priced at €1000, might be the right choice for you. At the time of writing, both devices are unfortunately not yet listed on the manufacturer’s website.
