Italian brand Unison has unveiled two new tube amplifiers: the Triode 25 Black Edition and the Simply Italy Black Edition.

There remains a loyal following for tube amplifiers, and for these enthusiasts, the Unison Research Triode 25 Black Edition and Simply Italy Black Edition might be of particular interest. These newcomers are essentially special editions of previously released models. Starting with the Triode 25 Black Edition, it features aesthetic updates like a high-gloss lacquered front panel and other enhancements, but there are also internal modifications. The amplifier circuit has been adjusted in terms of signal path and power supply, reducing distortion and boosting power. Users can switch between triode and pentode amplification modes, delivering 30 watts per channel in triode mode and 2 x 50 watts in pentode mode. This edition also includes the new built-in DAC3.

The Simply Italy Black Edition benefits from electronic biasing, allowing the KT-77 tubes to maintain optimal performance over their lifetime. This also eliminates the need for an auto-bias circuit. Additionally, the output transformers have been improved with a specialized winding technique to enhance sound quality. As with the Triode 25, this model features refined power supply and grounding. The maximum power output for this amplifier is 10 watts per channel.

The Unison Triode 25 Black Edition is priced at €4299, while the Simply Italy Black Edition retails for €3349.
