The Chord Electronics Alto is a headphone and speaker amplifier incorporating studio-grade technology.
The new Chord Electronics Alto is impressively compact, with a footprint roughly the size of an A5 sheet of paper. Originally designed for studio use, the manufacturer has now made this device available for home setups as well. It is specifically engineered for nearfield monitors and headphones.
On the rear panel, you’ll find speaker connectors, along with RCA and XLR inputs and XLR outputs. The front panel features four headphone outputs: one 4.4mm Pentacon, two 6.35mm jacks, and a 3.5mm mini-jack. The amplifier delivers a maximum of 25 watts per channel into 8 ohms (or 2 x 50 watts into 4 ohms). On the headphone side, it provides an output of 2.25 watts per channel at 100 ohms.
