The new Pro-Ject Amp Box RS2 is a hybrid power amplifier, combining tube and solid-state technology for a unique sound signature.
There are strong arguments for both tube warmth and solid-state precision. But if you can’t choose between them, a hybrid amplifier like the new Pro-Ject Amp Box RS2 might be the ideal solution. Its first amplification stage features a pair of 6DJ8 dual-triode tubes, delivering rich harmonics and warmth. Then, in the output stage you’ll find modern solid-state transistors in Class AB configuration, ensuring power and efficiency. Good to know is, that its designers took care of a Built-in protection, preventing clipping and DC voltage issues at the input.
Flexible Power & Configurations
In its standard configuration, the Amp Box RS2 delivers 2 x 130W at 4 Ohm (2 x 80W at 8 Ohm. However, it can also be bridged into mono mode, increasing output power to 280W at 8 Ohm.
Connectivity options include both RCA (Cinch) inputs and balanced XLR inputs for optimized signal transmission
External Power Supply for Performance Optimization
A key feature of the Amp Box RS2 is its external power supply unit, which allows adjustable output voltage:
- 35V for energy efficiency
- 45V for maximum power output
