Dolby Atmos is “the height channel of a surround system,” and so it’s no surprise that Lithe Audio has released a ceiling speaker for this purpose.
A speaker in the ceiling is how you get into space. Hence, the new Lithe Audio WiSA-certified Dolby Atmos ceiling speaker feels right at home there. Moreover, this is also an active speaker, equipped with a 60 Watt Class D amplifier.
In terms of power supply, you simply choose from the existing mains. Or you can choose the extra PoE-module. (or Power over Ethernet, power via a network cable). The speaker consists of a mid-bass unit with a tweeter mounted on it. The total frequency range runs from 55 Hz to 20 kHz.
Lots of connectivity
Each speaker is equipped with an optical input, Ethernet and WiFi (both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). In addition, Bluetooth, AirPlay2, Google Chromecast, Alexa, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music are supported.
In fact, this Lithe Audio speaker can therefore be used much more broadly than ‘just’ as a high altitude reproducer for Dolby Atmos. A comprehensive package of wireless (and wired) capabilities along with flexible configurations makes it an all-rounder.
Lithe Audio’s newcomer will cost you £600 each, or go for a pair a €770 together. Want to know more about what that WiSA certification entails? Then you can go here, on their homepage.
