Xiaomi Mi presents ‘cheap’ OLED TV

If you’re in the market for a new large-screen OLED TV and aren’t terribly concerned about your privacy, check out the Xiaomi Mi TV Master 77.

Chinese company Xiaomi Mi is making strong inroads in the West. Smartphones and all kinds of other electronics are eagerly sought after by people who want to score modern devices for not too much money.

And indeed: the manufacturer also makes televisions. Like this brand new 77-inch OLED TV with all the trimmings. The resolution is 4K, at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. An interesting detail is that both HDMI 2.1 inputs carry the certificate “Designed for Xbox” and also support Dolby Vision gaming. PC gamers are also catered for thanks to the Nvidia G-SYNC certification, which should lead to buttery-smooth gaming.

Movies

In addition to Dolby Vision, the Xiaomi Mi TV Master 77 also supports the competitive HDR10+, Dolby Vision IQ and has IMAX Enhanced certification. A built-in 70 watt 3.1 surround sound system – fine-tuned by Harman Kardon – should provide solid sound.

With a contrast ratio of 1,500,000 : 1 and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits plus 10-bit color depth, your movies should also look well. At the time of writing, the TV cannot yet be found on the manufacturer’s website, but that will undoubtedly be the case very soon.

Furthermore, the device is currently only available in China, for an amount of approximately $3100 (in this format indeed “cheap” compared to the competition). Whether this Xiaomi will also be available in our region is not yet known.
