Sweden’s Dirac has announced that their Live room correction technology will be available on the latest models of AV receivers from Onkyo, Pioneer and Integra.
Dirac Live ‘sweeps’ through your listening room and adjusts the settings of (for example) a receiver to maximize sound quality. According to its creators, this software is coming to the latest models of AV receivers from Onkyo, Pioneer and Integra. More specifically, this concerns the Onkyo models TX-NR7100 and TZ-RZ50, the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX305 and Elite VSX-LX505 as well as the Integra DRX-5.4 and DRX-3.4.

Dirac Live was developed ten years ago by PhD students at Uppsala University. Dirac develops DSP techniques to build that computation into a range of audio equipment. You’ll find the technology in a range of applications, including headphones, cars and even smartphones.
The Dirac Live software prioritizes the impulse response of loudspeakers, which is a different approach to creating the smoothest possible frequency response through an equalizer.
