Polk Audio expands its MagniFi Soundbar series with the MagniFi Mini AX ultra-compact soundbar, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound.
The new Polk Audio the MagniFi Mini AX is equipped with both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X and finished with Polk’s patented SDA technology. Listeners can also access millions of music tracks, podcasts and more with Wi-Fi streaming via Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect, or via a Bluetooth connection. The MagniFi Mini AX is easy to connect to any TV, according to the manufacturer. In addition, the system is equipped with a powerful, wireless subwoofer for – in Polk’s words – “rich, deep bass and cinematic impact. This makes the latest movies come into their own’.
Compact
Despite being only 37 cm wide, the MagniFi Mini AX soundbar sounds substantial, according to Polk Audio: ‘This compact, powerful soundbar system is equipped with no less than 5 advanced speakers and a wireless down-firing subwoofer. It takes the sound of any TV to the next level with deep bass, detailed treble and an expansive 3D sound field that larger soundbars can’t match.

“With the MagniFi Mini AX, we wanted to bring the world’s best sounding, ultra-compact Dolby Atmos soundbar to market,” said Frank Sterns, President of Polk Audio. “We were able to integrate the impressive surround qualities of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X complemented by Polk’s patented SDA technology. Dolby Atmos
The MagniFi Mini AX uses certified Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound for a lifelike cinematic experience in the comfort of your own home. Polk engineers have further enhanced the surround experience by incorporating their patented fourth-generation SDA technology. This, according to the manufacturer, creates “an even wider, more accurate sound field than Dolby Atmos or DTS:X can deliver on their own. They have also added 3D Audio Mode to take standard sound and stereo music to the next level. This mode converts sound into 360-degree virtual surround sound, including virtual height channels. The MagniFi Mini AX is a great solution for movies, TV and games. In addition, listeners benefit from better sound quality when streaming over Wi-Fi from their phone, tablet, or computer using Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, or Spotify Connect. The MagniFi Mini AX can also be easily connected to mobile devices via Bluetooth’.

The intelligibility of dialogues is – so says Polk Audio – ‘crucial to the optimal enjoyment of movies, news, sports, games and more. With the MagniFi Mini AX, Polk’s patented VoiceAdjust technology works synergistically with the soundbar’s dedicated center-channel driver. So listeners can turn up the voice volume without adjusting the overall volume and never miss a word. Furthermore, the powerful, state-of-the-art, wireless, down-firing subwoofer is part of the MagniFi system. It automatically connects to the soundbar and can be placed anywhere within a 6.7-meter radius. The subwoofer delivers the deep, effortless bass sound Polk is known for and can be adjusted as needed with the BassAdjust feature. This feature ensures that the low frequencies of the soundbar and subwoofer blend together nicely’.
Movie and Music modes
Movie and Music modes allow you to adjust the soundbar to the content being played and Night mode automatically increases the voice volume and mutes the bass. So you can watch TV at night with peace of mind without disturbing sleeping family members or neighbors. For even more immersive surround sound, users can add Polk SR2 wireless speakers (sold separately for €179). This creates a completely multidimensional Dolby Atmos or DTS:X 5.1 experience.
Easy to install with any TV
‘The MagniFi Mini AX soundbar system is a breeze to install. You only need one cable to connect it to your TV via HDMI eARC/ARC (HDMI cable included), optical or AUX-in. The convenient OLED display is easy to use and turns off when not in use.
