Samsung ends producing LCD screens this month, competition appears to be delivering at unbeatable prices.
It had been in the air for some time that Samsung would stop producing LCD screens. Competitors produce them for significantly less money. In fact, Samsung wanted to end the manufacturing of LCD’s already in 2020, but then the demand for televisions suddenly rose sharply due to the Covid outbreak. That peak is now over and so – as far as Samsung is concerned – it rings in the end of LCD. Instead, the manufacturer is going to focus on the for them more lucrative manufacturing of OLED and quantum dot displays. Another South Korean manufacturer – LG – is also considering withdrawing from LCD production.
