Polk Audio introduces the MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR soundbars, both Dolby Atmos/DTS:X capable and thus ideally suited for movie sound.
Polk Audio announces two new soundbars: the MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR. ‘These compact, high-performance soundbars bring movies, TV shows, music and games to life. Thanks to the 11 drivers with dedicated center channels, upward-facing drivers and Polk patented Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology, they feature immersive, multidimensional Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound. Both models feature wireless subwoofers for impressive bass response. The MagniFi Max AX SR has two wireless surround speakers for immersive sound. Music streaming, dedicated sound modes and eARC TV connectivity complete these versatile, affordable soundbars’, the manufacturer tells us. “Drawing on Polk’s 50 years of speaker design experience, the MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR are Polk’s best soundbars to date,” said Frank Sterns, Director of Polk Audio. “Thanks to Polk’s patented Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) and Voice Adjust technologies, the MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR fill any room with exceptional sound, without an excess of speakers. Add in built-in, wireless music streaming, and you have the ultimate all-in-one entertainment hub.”
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
The MagniFi Max AX soundbars take surround sound to new heights with special upward-facing drivers that, according to the manufacturer, ‘do full justice to the height element of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based sound formats. The fourth generation of Polk’s patented SDA technology creates a large soundstage that fills the entire room. The MagniFi Max AX reproduces sound sources with razor-sharp clarity, standing head and shoulders above comparable soundbars’.
10-inch subwoofer
The MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR both feature a downward-firing 10-inch subwoofer that delivers the deep, effortless bass that Polk is known for. The wireless connection lets you put it anywhere, without the hassle of cables. You can expand the MagniFi Max AX’s surround capabilities with the separately available Polk SR2 Wireless Rear Surround Speakers (EUR 199). The MagniFi Max AX SR soundbar is technically identical to the Max AX and has the SR2 Wireless Rear Surround Speakers included.
Optimal sound for every experience
Dedicated movie, TV and music modes that you can control at the touch of a button. Tune the bass response, clarity and sound field of the MagniFi Max AX to suit the circumstances. Night mode mutes speech and lowers bass for nighttime listening. VoiceAdjust turns up the volume of voices relative to other sound elements, improving intelligibility. BassAdjust balances the bass of the soundbar and subwoofer for what Polk Audio says is a pleasant bass sound. Furthermore, the MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR offer support for Wi-Fi streaming via Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect and all Alexa-compatible music services (no Dutch language support), as well as Bluetooth. Combine MagniFi AX soundbars (including the MagniFi Mini AX) to create a multi-room music system.
Easy installation and universal compatibility
According to Polk Audio, installation is ‘easy with 3 inputs/1 output for high-speed 4K HDMI high-bandwidth connections and input switching. Connect the soundbars to game consoles, Blu-ray players, streaming devices and more. You can connect it to the TV via HDMI eARC or ARC with the included HDMI cable; the optical input lets you connect older devices. The MagniFi works directly with most TV remotes (and a remote is included). The intuitive front-panel OLED display shows adjustments and dims automatically. The MagniFi Max AX is Roku TV-ready for even faster configuration and operation. The soundbars can be placed on a TV console or wall-mounted to fit any situation’.
The MagniFi Max AX (€799.00) and MagniFi Max AX SR (€899.00) soundbars will be available starting in October at PolkAudio.com and at authorized Polk outlets.
