MediaTek announced the new Pentonic 1000, a Soc (System On a Chip) that offers expanded HDMI 2.1 capabilities.
Devices with HDMI 2.1 on board are currently not widely available. That is undoubtedly going to change soon, thanks in part to MediaTek’s new Pentonic 1000 SoC. Brands using MediaTek Soc’s include Philips, Sony, Samsung and Panasonic, so there is a good chance that the Pentonic 1000 will be incorporated into their 2023 models. The new chip offers four HDMI-2.1 ports, one of which is eARC. All ports support 4K@120 Hz, as do VRR and ALLM. It makes the new MediaTek ideally suited for gaming.
