Apple is popping the price of its Apple TV+ subscription, but Apple Arcade is also nearly doubling in price.
Apple TV+ has been one of the more pleasantly priced video streaming services until now. The content was relatively modest, but high quality. Mostly in-house productions, too. In the U.S., the subscription price now goes from $6.99 to $9.99 per month. Apple Arcade is also jumping that 40 percent up, again from $6.99 to $9.99. Since the price increases also apply in the UK, it seems only a matter of (little) time before you can expect them in the EU as well.
Is the higher price worth it for you?
The price hikes also mean that combo subscriptions for Apple’s streaming services are also going up solidly in price. For example, it does immediately make the aforementioned Arcade – a subscription service for games – a whole lot more unattractive. Whether you are willing to pay the steeply increased subscription fee for Apple TV+ is a trade-off you have to make for yourself. As mentioned, Apple has plenty of its own productions ready to go in the service. But if you don’t happen to be an extreme fan of those and once bought a cheap subscription to Apple TV,+ now might be the time to start thinking seriously. Especially also because prices of streaming services everywhere are skyrocketing at the moment.
