The international online GOODMESH music competition attracts 200 participants from more than 30 countries from more than 70 conservatories with more than 35 different musical instruments.
The GOODMESH competition Arts Unite – Art Unites is an international music competition that searches for the best musicians who – as the organization says – work on the concept and performance based on two important principles:
1. Cooperate with a non-musical art form of your choice and
2. Creating a performance around the theme “body respect”. The current pandemic experience contributes to inspiration and togetherness.
Exciting until the last day of the year
No other music or art competition celebrates interdisciplinarity on such a scale, while art supports creative thinking. Each participant is free to choose his or her own company, art form and performance concept, creating a unique pool of creative possibilities! After the launch of the competition in early July 2020, over 5,000 people visited our website. Entries have been received from more than 200 participants from more than 30 countries, from more than 70 high ranked music institutions around the world with more than 35 different musical instruments and collaborations with more than 30 different non-musical art forms, such as dance, visual arts and theater. The first, second and third prize winners will be announced on December 31 of this year’, we read in the press release distributed concerning the GOODMESH competition.
Jury and votes
The jury of the GOODMESH competition consists of some of the most influential musicians, teachers and producers, both in the Netherlands and worldwide, providing participants with constructive feedback and enabling them to advance at the beginning of their careers. Amongst others the renowned pianist Anna Fedorova, violin teacher Coosje Wijzenbeek and composer / saxophonist Willem van Merwijk are part of the six members of the jury. From 1 December 2020, the public will be able to vote for ten selected finalists for the Audience Award. The main prize, with a value of more than 20,000 euros, concerns the recording of an album with the Dutch label TRPTK, with full worldwide distribution to all major music platforms.
